I took a leap of faith and began training in acupuncture after picking up a book entitled “Alternative Careers.” Something compelled me to make further enquiries, possibly my interest in Tai Chi. The following week I had an interview at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York and a few months later I started my training. It seemed like everything clicked into place after that and from being a nurse in intensive care, I moved on to
something that could not have been more different.
My work gives me a huge amount of satisfaction and my nursing background has always proved useful, with many people combining acupuncture and conventional treatment.
I qualified in 2001.
